A witty, friendly man with a shining intellect, Simon was a welcoming figure in the KES Common Room. He was a familiar face in the Library, and a great support to me. I remember sharing the driving with him on a couple of debating forays (including to the then-Millennium Stadium in Cardiff), and learning a lot about debating - and parking the school minibus!
