It is a true honour to have been taught by Mr Stacey during my time at KES. With a legendary presence in the Cartland Room, he poured in his passion to cultivate our love for English language and literature. From vividly explaining the proper formation of a tricolon to providing page-long essay comments, not to mention giving us a mock exam question in 4ths that actually appeared in the GCSE exam, he was everything and more that you could ask for in a teacher. Above all, he was truly committed towards bringing out the best in each and every one of his students. I will never forget his tireless efforts running debating sessions and shuttling us to competitions across the country, as well as providing much needed personal statement advice and mock interviews. Mr Stacey was a man who truly believed in us - encouraging and supporting us to achieve our potentials. His pragmatic candour, unique wit and immense kindness will always be remembered. He is no doubt one of the greats and I will be forever grateful for his guidance. Rest in peace, Mr Stacey. Jimmy Yuan (2021)
